Ramadhan Food Distribution in Kenya (2016)

Last weekend, I joined Safina Charity on a food distribution project in Wajir, Kenya.

The aim of the project was to provide aid to around 300 families (approx 1200 – 1500 people) during the month of Ramadhan.

We travelled a total of 1,424 km across remote desert, into the north of Kenya. The County of Wajir is close to Kenya’s borders with Somalia and Ethiopia.

The region is dubbed as “Forgotten Kenya”. It is an extremely poor area, with families living in some of the worst conditions, often with very little shelter, food and water.

It was a pleasure to be able to provide some welcome relief to these families, during this special month.
