Wajir is a remote and rugged part of Northern Kenya 🇰🇪, close to the borders with Ethiopia 🇪🇹 and Somalia 🇸🇴. Roughly 680 km from Nairobi and well off the usual tourist routes, reaching Wajir is an 11-hour journey across harsh, semi-desert terrain - a landscape that shapes both the lifestyle and the remarkable resilience of the people who call this region home. The first photo captures traditional shelter built from branches, fabric, and resourceful everyday materials; a reflection of how communities here adapt to the environment using creativity, skill, and knowledge of the land.
